Ayurveda in Sri Lanka, has been in practice for over 5,000 years. It has been a sought after source of treatment, as it gives importance to the maintenance of health as well as the curing of a disease. It focuses on removing the disease from its root rather than suppressing the disease as some other treatments do. Ayurveda treatments have also proven to be an excellent way to address weight gain, bad diet or poor sleep issues.
Another curative method proven over time is Yoga. Apart from activating the endocrine system, which is responsible for the health and proper functioning of vital organs, yoga brings tranquillity and stillness when practised. This makes it an excellent tool to manage and negate the physical and mental stress of modern day living.
Finally, meditation helps with becoming more mindful throughout the day, especially when dealing with difficult situations. Techniques such as silent meditation, sound meditation, nature immersion, and Pranayama (breathwork based meditation) are research-proven in reducing stress and improving both mental and physical health.
These 3 methods, along with enthralling excursions, fabulous accommodations and amazing food, makes this a holiday to be enjoyed in many layers!
