Thotalagala, a stunning tea estate that was established 145 years ago is perched high above the South East Sri Lankan plains and perched on the brink of the Haputale Escarpment. It is in a location that is breathtaking.

Thotalagala is located in Pitaratmalie Estate in Haputale. Bandarawela and Ella are respectively 14 and 26 kms away from this property.

Twenty acres of lawn and patana grass surround the home at Thotalagala. A grand view welcomes the eye as it emerges from the lawn’s edge. 4000 hectares of tea grow behind the property, covering the Haputale hills, and extending into the Bandarawela side of the mountain, 1500 feet above.

These rooms pay lavish homage to the styles, colors, shapes, and ideas that distinguished Sri Lanka's British colonial past while also celebrating the quirks of the people whose namesakes they bear.
