Lake Lodge is a chic and affordable hotel to stay in the capital, be it for one or more nights. It’s close to the Beira Lake, a lurid green waterway home to pelicans, and the Seema Malaka – a Geoffrey Bawa designed Island temple. Managed by Nayantara Fonseka who has refurbished the lodge, guests often describe it as a ‘home away from home’. Appointed with local artwork, polished floors, timber beams, neutral soft furnishings, and white floral arrangements – there’s ample space to unwind and relax.

Another aspect we love about Lake Lodge is its gastronomy. The food at ‘Table By Taru” is praiseworthy for its impressive and unusual creativity. The staff is attentive and friendly. Being small makes it really special – giving it a great, homely feel.

Lake Lodge by Taru Villas offers accommodation in 10 rooms, in the categories of Classic, Deluxe and Garden rooms which are chic and simplistic. The Garden Suite features a separate lounge with a sofa and a little dining terrace - making it ideal for individuals seeking a little more privacy.

All rooms are equipped with modern conveniences for a delightful stay. Uniquely designed, adorned with local contemporary art with built-in cement bed and side tables, they all have air-conditioning, cable TV with ensuite bathrooms that come with hot water rain showers.

The Lodge is designed to make your stay as seamlessly convenient as possible. With plenty of open spaces to relax and unwind, Lake Lodge has two lounge areas on the ground floor and two open air terraces on the upper floor.

Centrally located, you can easily reach bars and shopping malls. Park Street Mews - a high-end dining precinct and the Gangaramaya Buddhist temple are close by. Colombo’s other attractions: the National Museum, Art Galleries, Independence Square, Galle Face Green, Khan clock tower and the iconic Pettah Mosque are accessible by vehicle.
