Fox Resorts Jaffna is a boutique resort nestled among Jaffna’s gently swaying palm palms, located near Kokuvil, only 10 minutes outside of Jaffna town.

This old house previously belonged to a prominent Northern family, and has an exciting history.

Before being claimed by the government as office space, the facility was used as a treasury by militants! The owners have since restored their family home into a luxurious boutique hotel, combining modern conveniences while conserving its colourful past. The hotel is in an ideal location, allowing their visitors to experience the culture, places of worship, and other historical monuments in this northern peninsula in a short amount of time.

Why do we love Fox Resort Jaffna?

We love Fox Resorts Jaffna as the property itself is beautiful – very homey, chic and retro, but also modern at the same time. This hotel has a small museum and an art gallery set in two war-era bunkers below the old house!

The location is perfect, close enough to town, but not too close for comfort. We love the cosy clean rooms and the pool is just what you will need after a long hot day in sunny Jaffna.

There’s complete seclusion allowing guests to fully appreciate their surroundings.

Comfort

25 rooms are set in the lovely garden of the old house, which hosts the reception, sitting area and the restaurant. Fox Resorts Jaffna offers accommodation under the categories of Superior, Deluxe twin and Deluxe double. A highlight at the Fox Resorts is that the rooms are arranged twice every day, with special towel art.

The four apartments of the main bungalow are decorated after George Keyt, paying respect to the colours and architectural style of the North. Six additional villas pay tribute to other artists, with each villa featuring artwork by a well-known local artist.

Experiences

From the Hotel with a guide or on your own, you can visit the famous intricately carved Nallur Kovil, the intriguing Manthiri Manai, or the historic Nagadeepa temple, among the many religious attractions in the vicinity. Take a stroll through Northern Ceylon's first capital.

You’ll be able to walk through and experience The Bunker, a Fox Resorts Art Gallery, which has the country's greatest collection of artworks by Sri Lanka's renowned '43 Group,' as well as works by other notable 20th century Sri Lankan masters.
