Polonnaruwa

EKHO Lake House

EKHO Lake House is situated in the heart of Polonnaruwa on the banks of the largest man-made reservoir in the world, Parakrama samudraya and surrounded by culturally rich experiences.

The Old Polonnaruwa Rest House, which served as the Queen of England’s vacation home in the 1960s and was built in 1870 as a circuit bungalow for British Government Agents, has been refurbished and changed its name to EKHO Lake House, Polonnaruwa.

EKHO Lake House offers breathtaking views of the historic center of Polonnaruwa’s UNESCO World Heritage site of Kingdoms past and looks out onto the expansive Sea of Parakrama Samudraya.

Why do we love EKHO Lake House?

We do love EKHO Lake House as it is caressed by the waters of one of the greatest man-made lakes, you cannot find a more serene and picturesque place to immerse yourself in serene surroundings and rich history echoing inches away.

The staff here are very professional and also friendly at the same time offering you the best possible service.

EKHO Lake House is a beautiful setting on the lake and its location is very ideal for you to explore the roundabouts of this ancient Polonnaruwa city. It’s actually walking distance to many ruins.

What can I look forward to?
