It takes just 5 to 10 minutes to travel the short 7 kilometres between the park entrance and the campsite.

The Wilpattu National Park is well-known for housing populations of Sri Lankan Leopards, Elephants, Sloth Bears, and a variety of other animals, all of which are supported by an abundant undisturbed environment. This comfortable and well managed camp site is only 500 metres from the park’s perimeter. Your hosts take pleasure in offering individualised service and paying great attention to every detail. Why do we love Big Game Wilpattu?

We do love Big Game Camp Wilpattu because its near Sri Lanka’s oldest and biggest National Park, Wilpattu, famous for leopards, elephants and sloth bears, and also a perfect stopover for many migratory birds such as the Asian paradise flycatcher male, Orange-headed thrush, Blue-tailed bee-eater among others. The campground itself is near the lake making it a magical destination.

Comfort

Big Game Camp Wilpattu, which is situated on the edge of Wilpattu National Park, offers 12 spacious tents each with an attached partitioned bathroom. Tents have a raised bed with a mattress, cushions, bed linen, and a towel and can be sealed. Additionally, a desk, a seating space, free bottled water, a flashlight, a shoe rack and an umbrella are provided.

Tents normally come in 13.12 feet X 9.5 feet with a verandah : 9.5 feet X 9.8 feet.

Experiences

Big Game Wilpattu provides a special safari in the Wilpattu National Park with knowledgeable naturalists and skilled drivers. Your safari can be either a half day outing or a full day safari with packed lunch.

There’s a recreation lounge and common area, which features cosy chairs, board games, and a small library. Specialised services including family safaris, honeymoon safaris, photographic safaris, and vacation safaris can be arranged for a small extra cost. You can take nearby hiking trails or enjoy magical moonlit strolls next to a charming lake.

Gastronomy

You can opt to be served dinner by the lake, promising a unique experience. Big Game Wilpattu’s dining options are 3-course Breakfast, 3-course sit down Lunch, and 3 course BBQ sit down dinner (Set Menus for Full Board clients).

Those who prefer to participate in both the morning and evening safaris can come to the camp for lunch and return in time for the evening safari. You can also make the morning safari a full-day excursion with an enjoyable packed lunch.
