The excursion with primate research professionals will start at 6 a.m. You will be able to closely observe three primate species: Grey Langur, Purple-faced leaf monkey, and toque macaque. You will witness their daily routines of how they feed themselves and interact socially with other monkey families as well as other animals, especially with the pilgrims who visit the Polonnaruwa historical site for religious purposes. Each primate differs as an individual and has a personality; they have their own interpersonal issues and dramatic interfamily conflicts.
