Tintagel is a stately 1930s heritage building, once home to the Bandaranaike family which gave Sri Lanka 2 prime ministers and a president, notably the world’s first female prime minister Sirima Bandaranaike.

The residence has also hosted celebrities and nobility such as King Charles III. Today, it’s a trendy hotel located down Rosmead Place in Colombo.

Taken over by its new proprietor in 2005, Tintagel saw a make-over to create what it is today. It is impeccably designed and is one of Colombo’s most stylish and chic boutique hotels with contemporary interiors featuring high ceilings, timber floors and lavish décor incorporating a unique blend of colours. Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo consists of 10 air-conditioned rooms of which 3 are superior suites, 5 executive suites and 2 junior suites. The rooms are chic and stylish, yet all unique. From spacious lounges, balcony or courtyard, all the rooms come with luxurious beds. draped in mosquito netting ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep while satellite televisions, minibars, and plush bathrobes, as well as bathrooms with showers with some having bathtubs are common features.
