Big Game Yala by Eco Team

The Big Game Camp site by Eco Team is located close to the Yala National Park and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to drive to the park entrance which is situated close to the “Katagamuwa” gate (off Kataragama).

This campground, which has all you need for a eco-vacation, is surrounded by a wide variety of local flora and fauna in a small forest preserve.

The Nimalawa Sanctuary is directly behind this area of semi-wilderness. This region is home to a vast variety of birds and a paradise for wildlife that graze and hunt there. Immerse yourself in natural wilderness. You might catch a glimpse of spotted deer and an occasional elephant at the campsite.

Comfort

Big Game Camp Yala offers spacious tents with an attached partitioned bathroom. Tents normally come in 13.12 feet X 9.5 feet with a veranda : 9.5 feet X 9.8 feet.

Each tent has a raised bed with a mattress, cushions, bed linen, and a towel and tents can be sealed. There is a toilet and a shower in the private bathroom. Additionally, a desk, a seating space, free bottled water, a flashlight, a shoe rack and an umbrella are provided.

Experiences

Big Game Yala provides a special safari experience guided by an expert naturalist. You may opt for a half day safari or a full day safari with packed lunch.

Chill at their comfortable, fully-carpeted recreation lounge and common area, which is furnished with bean bags, coffee tables, novels, and board games but that probably won't be your priority. Elephants frequent the campsite, and nighttime forest hikes can be arranged. Big Game Yala offers specialised services including family safaris, honeymoon safaris, photographic safaris, and vacation safaris at a small extra cost.

Gastronomy

Big Game Yala’s dining options are 3-course Breakfast, 3-course sit down Lunch, and 3 course BBQ sit down dinner (Set Menus for Full Board clients).

Enjoy a BBQ by the campfire serenaded by a jungle chorus and you'll surely get more out of the experience than just dinner. Those who prefer to participate in both the morning and evening safaris can come to the camp for lunch and return in time for the evening safari. You can also make the morning safari a full-day excursion with an enjoyable packed lunch.
