Knuckles Mountain, locally referred to as Dumbara Mountain, is situated north of Kandy in Sri Lanka’s Central Highlands.

It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, and is one of the island’s most stunning natural attractions.

Wild Glamping is located 1.5 kilometres off Thangappuwa, the main entrance to the Knuckles Mountain Range from Theldeniya to Kandy, and is the only destination in the Knuckles Mountain Range that offers a glamping experience. Guests will be picked up by their team from the “New Division Hindu Temple” in Thangappuwa, 4 km before the campsite and transported there by 4*4 vehicles due to the route’s difficult and tight terrain.

Their comfortable tents are safe, sturdy and equipped with comforts that a camper might need while spending the night. After an action-packed day in the wilderness, a large room, plush beds, and a wide ensuite bathroom guarantee the utmost in relaxation. To ensure that you are relishing the beautiful experience of luxury camping, the tents boast of unobstructed views of the surrounding lush vegetation.

Undoubtedly, bird lovers and bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by the Knuckles forest reserve. 17 of the 128 bird species found in the mountain range are endemic.

You can start your hike before the sun breaks through the clouds and reach the forest preserve where one of our knowledgeable naturalists is waiting to share his expertise with you. Even though hiking in the Knuckles mountain range can be difficult, the 12-kilometre journey to the trail's summit is well worth the 8–9-hour adventure.
