The Gal Oya National Park, which is the largest National Park of the island, also which is home to the “Veddahs,” the final remaining members of Sri Lanka’s original population, is adjacent to the historical village of “Rathugala,” where Wild Glamping Gal Oya is located.

The area is bordered by savanna woods and gorgeous mountains. Using best practices in agriculture, this 30 Acres of abandoned deforested chena cultivation along Rambakan Oya has been transformed into an organic farm.

Since 90% of its staff members are from nearby indigenous Vaddah communities, it gives them the opportunity for social and economic development.

Comfort

Wild Glamping - Gal Oya offers accommodation in 03 Double tents, 04 Twin tents and 03 Family tents.

Ten large and spacious tents made from eco-friendly materials, are designed to blend in with the surrounding nature. Each tent is equipped with an attached bathroom, a large veranda and consists of facilities which enable guests to relax while exploring. This includes air conditioning, rain shower, infinity pool, solar lighting & hot water and in-room safe.

The bathrooms are unusually large and open to the sky allowing constant ventilation and cool air inside.

The camp grows its own organic vegetables which are used daily in the preparation of savory dishes at the restaurant.
